Football Replay
Fancy a kickabout?
Look: we're all busy. But we all love football. There's a massive demand for over-35s football but the average man has increasing time commitments - and decreasing patience with poor facilities.
Which is where Football REPLAY comes in. It's been created to make it easier â and more fun â to play regular football by offering same-place, same-time games every week.
"The whole idea of making football very accessible for the over 35s is very well thought through. People think that when you get past 35, your body gives up, but it doesn't. It's you that gives up" â Steve Claridge
And with concerns over fitness and injury, Football REPLAY puts the emphasis more on style and skills than blood-and-guts, win-at-all-costs football. The games are played on smaller pitches and there's no sliding tackles, therefore minimising the injury risk.
Operating on Sunday afternoons throughout 45 centres across the country, they're open to individuals or groups. Choose the most suitable kick-off time â 2pm, 4pm or 6pm (the sessions usually last around an hour).
"I think it's a fantastic initiative. When men get to 35 they have other things which take up their time. Football Replay allows men to turn up to play football for a short time and get some much-needed exercise. It'll increase fitness levels and make you feel better" - Perry Groves

âÂÂFootball REPLAY is an exciting initiative which the FA are part funding in order to create new opportunities for men over 35 to keep enjoying playing our national game. The 5-a-side format is ideal with smaller pitches creating a more manageable game as fitness and stamina levels at this target age group start to change. The partnership with the public health bodies also shows how keeping fit through football creates a more active and healthier nation. And itâÂÂs more fun than the gym!â â Trevor Brooking
