France v Croatia live stream, Monday 13 June, 7.45pm
France will be looking to belatedly kick-start their Nations League campaign when they host Croatia on Monday.
Didier Deschamps' side are rooted to the foot of the Group A1 table at the midway stage of the 2022/23 edition of the tournament. They have been hugely disappointing so far and will be in danger of suffering an improbable relegation to League B unless they get their act together soon.
France kicked things off with a 2-1 home defeat by Denmark at the Stade de France, before being held to a 1-1 draw by Croatia on matchday two. The scores were level in their last match too, but it could have been much worse for the World Cup and Nations League holders: Kylian Mbappe's late strike earned France a 1-1 draw with Ralf Rangnick's Austria.
All is not lost for Deschamps' team. Wins in each of their remaining three matches could be enough to see France through to the Finals. But a failure to emerge victorious on Monday would surely end their hopes of finishing top of this group. It would also be less than ideal preparation for Qatar later this year.
Croatia, who were beaten 4-2 by les Bleus in the 2018 World Cup final, ran out 1-0 winners against Denmark last time out. It was a tight game with little to choose between the sides, but Mario Pasalic's second-half strike earned his country a massive win.
Croatia are now two points adrift of Denmark in top spot, and two clear of France in fourth place. They would probably settle for a draw on Monday despite their upcoming opponents' recent struggles, and will again have to do without Josko Gvardiol and Ivan Perisic.
Raphael Varane will play no part here after suffering a hamstring injury. Mbappe is set to return to the starting XI after beginning the draw with Austria among the substitutes.
