Leeds will be looking for their first win of the Premier League season when West Ham visit Elland Road this weekend.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side have had a difficult start to the campaign, taking only three points from 15 available. Losses to Manchester United and Liverpool were to be expected, and Leeds have at least avoided defeat in each of their other three matches.
A 1-1 draw with Newcastle last time out was a chaotic, end-to-end encounter, with Leeds taking the game to their opponents from the first whistle. The Whites scored first through Raphinha but were unable to hold onto the lead, as Allan Saint-Maximin struck an equaliser shortly before half-time.
West Ham must still be recovering from the dramatic finish to their 2-1 loss to Manchester United, when Mark Noble missed a penalty with virtually the last kick of the game. They did enact a measure of revenge by beating United in the League Cup in midweek, but David Moyes will now want to see his team return to winning ways in the top flight.
The Hammers have had a reasonably good start to the season with two wins and two draws to date. At the same time Moyes will realise that his team needs to tighten up at the back, with seven goals conceded in five games. Keeping an attack-minded Leeds team quiet is easier said than done, though.
Leeds will have to make do without Robin Koch, Diego Llorente and Patrick Bamford for the visit of West Ham. Pascal Struijk is still suspended after his recent red card against Liverpool, while Luke Ayling, Jack Harrison and Raphinha will need to be assessed.
West Ham will be unable to call upon the services of Ryan Fredericks, but Moyes has no other injury concerns going into the weekend. Antonio will return to the starting XI after serving a one-match suspension.
