Watford manager Claudio Ranieri will return to the King Power Stadium looking to knock Leicester out of the FA Cup on Saturday.
There have been suggestions that Ranieri is beginning to come under pressure at Vicarage Road. That might sound harsh given that the Italian was only installed in the dugout at the beginning of October, but Watford are not exactly known for their patience and Ranieri has lost nine of his 11 Premier League games at the helm.
Watford have been unable to pull clear of the relegation zone since dispensing of Xisco Munoz - they are currently just one place and two points above the bottom three. The board is unlikely to act if Watford lose in the FA Cup this weekend, but a meeting with Newcastle in seven days' time could be make or break for Ranieri.
Leicester have similarly not been shy in acting decisively if they feel change is needed; Ranieri can attest to that better than anyone. Brendan Rodgers still has plenty of credit in the bank after an FA Cup triumph and back-to-back fifth-place finishes, but this season has not gone to plan so far.
The Foxes are unlikely to qualify for the Champions League, but they will believe they have a good chance of defending the FA Cup. A third-round tie against Premier League opposition is tougher than it might have been, but Leicester should get the job done here, especially if Watford opt to ring the changes with an eye on that upcoming clash with Newcastle.
Leicester have lost Wilfred Ndidi, Papy Mendy, Kelechi Iheanacho and Daniel Amartey to the Africa Cup of Nations. James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Ryan Bertrand are expected to be available again, but James Justin, Caglar Soyuncu, Jonny Evans, Ricardo Pereira, Jamie Vardy and Wesley Fofana are all on the treatment table.
Watford will be unable to call upon the services of Peter Etebo, Christian Kabasele, Danny Rose, Kiko Femenia, Kwadwo Baah and Nicolas N'Koulou. Adam Lasina, Imran Louza, Ismaila Sarr and William Troost-Ekong are in Cameroon for the Cup of Nations.
