Lionel Messi reaches 700 games with 613 goals: The Barcelona great’s career in numbers

Lionel Messi

The Argentine maestro was at his dazzling best against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday, inspiring his team to a 3-1 win that guarantees their progression to the Champions League last 16 as group winners.

He's only the second player to reach the 700-game mark for Barcelona after Xavi Hernandez, who racked up 767 appearances before his departure to Qatar.

Messi is the club’s most successful player ever, having won 34 trophies as well as a plethora of individual awards, including five Ballon d’Or prizes and six Golden Shoes.

His statistics are simply staggering. In 700 games, he has scored 613 goals and provided 237 assists.

That includes 40 hat-tricks and 125 braces, while he’s hit four goals on five occasions and even managed five once.

But century by century, how does Messi’s time at the Camp Nou look?
