Antonio Conte's side will be looking to bounce back from a defeat by Liverpool on Sunday when they travel to the City Ground. Spurs started slowly and were 2-0 down at the interval, and although they rallied in the second half the hosts were unable to draw level again.
That has been a familiar problem for Tottenham this term. They have conceded the first goal in a majority of their Premier League matches (eight of 14) - only Southampton and West Ham have worse records in that regard. Spurs must find a way to be quicker out of the blocks.
Nottingham Forest salvaged a point with a last-gasp equaliser against Brentford last time out. Steve Cooper's side could consider themselves hard done by with some of the refereeing decisions at the City Ground, but a 2-2 draw must go down as another disappointing result against a fellow bottom-half side.
Forest remain rooted to the foot of the table ahead of the visit of Crystal Palace this weekend. It would only be natural if Cooper was already looking ahead to that fixture, and Forest fans would no doubt prefer to see the club focus on its attempt to survive in the Premier League.
Cristian Romero, Son Heung-min and Richarlison are all sidelined for Tottenham, who are likely to rest some of their regular starters ahead of this weekend's game against Leeds.
Lucas Moura, Oliver Skipp, Djed Spence and Fraser Forster are among the players who will be hoping to be included in the starting XI as Spurs begin their Carabao Cup campaign.
Forest will be unable to call upon the services of Omar Richards, Harry Toffolo, Jack Colback, Giulian Biancone and Moussa Niakhate, as they seek to avenge a 2-0 home loss to Tottenham earlier in the campaign.

VPN guide
Use a VPN to watch Carabao Cup football from outside your country
If you’re out of the country for a round of Carabao Cup action, then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you’ve paid up for a subscription and still want to catch the action without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.
But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there, and FourFourTwo currently recommends:
