Quiz! Can you name every FA Cup semi-finalist since 1990?
Can you get as close to glory as these teams did?
Ah, the magic of the cup. Football on terrestrial TV (and sometimes BT). Home-made trophies constructed out of cardboard and tinfoil, and almost certainly soon to be outlawed due to copyright infringement. The fact anyone can beat anyone, as proved by the last five winners: Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester United, Arsenal and Arsenal. Magic!
Yes, the FA Cup is back this weekend with the semi-finals, along with the knowledge that at least one of Watford (last final: 1984), Brighton (1983) and Wolves (1960) will make it through.
Semi-finals are peculiar days – and not just because they’re held at Wembley now. They are relatively close to glory, and yet feel so very far away. Especially if you lose.
Some pretty surprising teams have made it to the semis over the years – but how many can you name? We want you to try to get every one since 1990.
We’re putting nine minutes on the clock for you – and a star (*) denotes teams that made it through to the final that year.
