Tonight’s game is Arsenal’s first European final since losing the Champions League against Barcelona in 2006.
But more excitingly (well...) it’s their first Europa League final since they lost to Galatsaray in May 2000.
That slightly less remembered European jaunt involved being knocked out of the Champions League group stage, following visits to Fiorentina and Barcelona, before a UEFA Cup run took them to Nantes and Deportivo La Coruna.
On the way, they used 23 players in both competitions that season, with a couple of lesser-known squad players getting a couple of run-outs along the way.
