Quiz! Can you name the last 48 scorers in Champions League semi-finals?
This one takes us all the way back to the last time Manchester United were in one…
Tottenham, Ajax, Barcelona and Liverpool: the four glory hopefuls set to battle it out in this week’s Champions semi-final ties.
It’s so close to triumph and yet, as many find, often all too far away. The goals scored in finals are so often remembered, while those just a step away fade with time.
Since the 2010/11 season, 48 different players have scored in Champions League semi-finals. Some have gone on to lift Ol’ Big Ears – but the majority haven’t.
So how many of those can you name? The list takes us all the way back to Manchester United vs Schalke in 2011, and each player only appears once (so just naming Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t going to get you that far). We’re giving you the year each player scored their most recent semi-final goal, as well as their team and position – and 10 minutes to name as many as you can.
Once you’re done, send us a screenshot (without any answers, you daft lot) to @FourFourTwo and see if you can make it onto our daily leaderboard.
