RB Leipzig v Rangers live stream: How to watch the Europa League from anywhere in the world
Watch an RB Leipzig v Rangers live stream as the Gers look to continue their Europa League run
RB Leipzig v Rangers live stream, Thursday 28 April, 8pm BST, BT Sport
Looking for a RB Leipzig v Rangers live stream? We’ve got you covered with our handy guide.
Rangers’ bid to reach their first European final since 2008 takes them to Germany on Thursday, where they face RB Leipzig in the Europa League semi-final first leg.
The Gers have enjoyed a superb campaign on the continent and are now three games away from winning their second ever European trophy.
Their last came in 1972 with the Cup Winners’ Cup, while they made it to the 2008 UEFA Cup final, only to fall to Zenit.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side took a huge scalp in the first knockout round by eliminating Borussia Dortmund with a 6-4 aggregate win, before taking down Red Star Belgrade and Braga.
Now they have their sights set on another German side, as Leipzig target their first ever European trophy.
The Bundesliga outfit only qualified for Europe for the first time in 2017, but made an impressive run to the Champions League semi-finals as recently as 2020.
They tumbled into the Europa League after finishing third in a tricky Champions League group featuring Manchester City, PSG and Club Brugge, and knocked out Real Sociedad, Spartak Moscow and Atalanta to reach this stage.
Domenico Tedesco’s side were on a 15-match unbeaten run in all competitions until Saturday, when they fell to a 2-1 league defeat at Union Berlin that saw them drop into fourth place.
Rangers’ hopes of defending the Scottish Premiership title are looking slim, as they sit six points behind rivals Celtic with four games to go.
They will need to put the thought of this weekend’s Old Firm derby out of their heads until after the trip to east Germany.
Kick-off is at 8pm BST and UK viewers can watch live on BT Sport 2
For a limited time, you can get five copies of FourFourTwo for just £5! The offer ends on May 2, 2022.
VPN guide
Use a VPN to watch Europa League football from outside your country
If you’re out of the country for a round of Premier League fixtures, then annoyingly your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows where you are because of your IP address (boo!). You'll be blocked from watching it, which is not ideal if you’ve paid up for a subscription and still want to catch the action without resorting to illegal feeds you’ve found on Reddit.
But assistance is on hand. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. All the info going between is entirely encrypted – and that's a result.
There are plenty of good-value options out there, including:
ExpressVPN including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
FourFourTwo’s brainy office mates TechRadar love its super speedy connections, trustworthy security and the fact it works with Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS4 and loads more. You also get a money-back guarantee, 24/7 support and it's currently available for a knockdown price. Go get it!
NordVPN with quality mobile and desktop apps
A cheaper option and almost ExpressVPN's equal when it comes to quality, too. A single subscription covers six connections, so you can use it on mobile, laptop, streaming devices and more, all at the same time.
Surfshark offers a great VPN at a fraction of the price
It's clear to see why Surfshark is top of TechRadar's best cheap VPN table – it combines an excellent product with bargain pricing, starting at £2/$2.50 a month!
