Rooney, Torres and the (other) best strikers ever

It's January, so everbody's chasing strikers. Rather greedily, we've herded all the best of them into the new FourFourTwo (out now) â a special Strikers Issue.

Leading our line are Wayne Rooney and Fernando Torres with two exclusive interviews, and you can get different covers â one featuring the Englishman, the other the Spaniard.

The Manchester United talisman tells us which are his best three positions â in order of preference â while Liverpool's No.9 reveals how "it bugs me if I don't score in the warm-up".

But it's not just those two strikers. Bundesliga-busting Brazilian Grafite recalls his long slog to the top, Gabriel Batistuta reveals how he's now mad for polo, and we revere burly Italian Christian Vieri in our Icon feature.

We also reveal the 50 greatest British strikers since the war â and the greatest strikers you've never heard of â while we get a shrink to analyse answers from forwards in the Premier League, Football League and Sunday League.

And speaking of qualified analysis, planet-brained football guru Paul Simpson (aka Professor Champions League) dissects the changing role of the striker over the last 70 years.

Gary Lineker gives three top tips to park strikers, Dwight Yorke gives us the benefit of his considerable experience, expert author Simon Kuper reveals why Thierry Henry's all clapped out and the Action Replay recalls the halcyon Barcelona days of Stoichkov & Romario.

There's another free World Cup supplement, this time recalling Mexico 86 - Maradona's tournament, with supporting roles for the dynamite Danes, that France-Brazil quarter-final and Uday Hussein's Iraq. Read exclusive interviews with Hugo Sanchez, Emilio Butragueno, Gary Lineker and Jorge Burruchaga.

Oh yeah, interviews. We've got the best Rolodex in football. Check out the list of interviewees for this month's mag:
