When will the Euro 2024 squads be announced, then? We haven't got long to wait, with the tournament approaching ever-faster.

Euro 2024 will see 24 teams go head-to-head in Germany to battle it out for the coveted trophy, with favourites such as England, France, the hosts and Portugal all gearing up to go deep into the tournament.

But while the recent March internationals have given an indication into each Euro 2024 squad, fans are still awaiting the final confirmation. So when will the Euro 2024 squads be announced? FourFourTwo highlights the state of play.

With the tournament kicking off with Germany vs Scotland on June 14 in Munich, UEFA has confirmed that the deadline for teams to register their final squads is June 7.

UEFA regulations state that final squads must be registered seven days before the beginning of the European Championship, though injured players can be replaced at any point before the opening match. That's good news for Gareth Southgate and England, with the Three Lions playing Bosnia & Herzegovina at Wembley on the day of the deadline.

Southgate will select a preliminary squad on May 21, however, two days after the conclusion of the Premier League season. This will provide the England manager with more time to assess his charges ahead of the preliminary games at the beginning of June.

It is unclear how many players will make that preliminary squad, though expect a substansial amount considering Manchester City, Manchester United and Jude Bellingham's Real Madrid all have cup finals to contend with after May 21.

The Three Lions have been drawn against Denmark, Slovenia and Serbia in Group C and will hope to end a 58-year-long wait for a major trophy this summer.

They've already received a boost in their preparations, however, with UEFA announcing that squad sizes have been increased from 23 to 26 players. Southgate was previously outspoken about having to be smarter in his squad selection, though he now has slightly more leeway in his decision-making.
