Ajax cruise into Dutch Cup final
ROTTERDAM - Ajax Amsterdam thrashed second division side Go Ahead Eagles Deventer 6-0 in the Dutch Cup semi-final on Thursday to set up a clash with arch-rivals Feyenoord.
Feyenoord beat league leaders Twente Enschede 2-1 on Wednesday to reach the April 25 showdown, which will be their second Cup final meeting with Ajax after beating them 3-1 in 1980.
Dutch international Demy de Zeeuw opened the scoring for Ajax on 11 minutes from close range after good work from Luis Suarez before Serbian Marko Pantelic doubled the lead seven minutes before the interval.
Siem de Jong, Christian Eriksen, Dennis Rommedahl and Nico las Lodeiro struck late for Ajax to complete the rout.
