Arshavin agent refutes jealousy reports
The agent of Arsenal forward Andrey Arshavin has rubbished reports suggesting the Russian playmaker is unhappy at the Emirates Stadium and causing jealousy among his new team-mates.
Articles had surfaced claiming the Gunners' new £15 million signing from Zenit St Petersburg - who has netted six goals in his first nine league games - was already fed up of playing on the left-wing and sick of having practical jokes played on him by Arsenal players.
However, his agent Dennis Lachter has since stated that the quotes attributed to him in the reports were all completely untrue.
“All this stuff is made up," he told sport.co.uk.
“It’s quite strange to see that I’ve made comments like that after nine months of fighting for Andrey’s future and within three months of his success at Arsenal.
“I’ve received several links with articles from Metro, Daily Mail and something else. There is no name of a newspaper from Russia, there is no name of reporter.
“The only thing that it says is that I’ve spoken to someone from St. Petersburg. I definitely have not.
“He [Arshavin] is really happy at Arsenal. It looks like somebody - definitely not team-mates of Andrey – are jealous of Arshavin, in particular, and of Arsenal as well.

“I still have a lot of so-called friends who’d be happy to put a knife in my back. They are probably the ones making controversial comments."
