Borussia Dortmund confident Aubameyang will stay
Hans-Joachim Watzke expects Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to stay at Borussia Dortmund regardless of alleged interest from Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke is confident Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will not leave Signal Iduna Park at the end of the season.
The prolific striker has a contract with BVB until June 2020, but is continually being linked with a move away from the Bundesliga giants, with Real Madrid believed to be among his admirers.
Aubameyang recently fuelled speculation that he could be on the move when he stated he might have to leave in order to take the next step in his career, but Dortmund remain optimistic he will stay put.
"Ever since Auba joined Dortmund, I have never had the feeling that he is planning to leave this club," Watzke told Bild.
"And I think he realises that we are building a great team again here.
"We know what he means to us, but he also knows what we can do for him.
"We are not thinking about a transfer at all at this stage."
