Fabio Silva has a lot of quality – Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno Espirito Santo has backed Wolves’ record buy Fabio Silva to adapt quickly to the Premier League.
The 18-year-old completed a £35million switch to Molineux from Porto last week.
He is expected to be in the squad for Monday’s Premier League opener at Sheffield United and Nuno believes the young forward can handle the top-flight pressure.
He said: “It’s about the talent. What we look at is the talent and quality of the player and the ability and capacity the player has to come and adapt as fast as possible to our ideas, squad and environment.
“We are really happy with Fabi. How we are going to do things with him, when and where we have to decide. He is working very well and he is adapting fast.
“I didn’t expect anything else because the core of the squad is here and our rules, ideas and the way we socialise is evident.
“After that it all depends on the player and the time he needs. One thing is certain – the quality and talent, Fabi has a lot.”

Jonny remains out with a serious knee injury he suffered at the end of last season while new boys Fernando Marcal and Vitinha are expected to be included in the squad.
It has been exactly a month since Wolves ended last season with a 1-0 Europa League quarter-final defeat to eventually winners Sevilla in Germany.
The coronavirus pandemic is still gripping society and sport and Nuno knows clubs need to continue to adapt.
He added: “Not only us, all the teams have a lot of issues. It’s created problems and solutions we have to find. The disruption which has happened is evident.
“It has been hard, especially after the international break. The squad had not been working together many days. We have a couple of days to start the competition and I’m hopeful we are going to do well.
“We understand with the pandemic situation, it’s still happening and everyone has to put in an effort to get up to speed in not so much time.”
