Former Zola team-mate in talks with West Ham
Former Chelsea midfielder Samuele Dalla Bona is in talks with former Blues team-mate Gianfranco Zola about joining West Ham United. The Italian is currently unattached after leaving Napoli and has contacted the Hammers boss about training with the high-flying Premier League outfit. Dalla Bona made 55 top-flight appearances for Chelsea between 1999 and 2002, scoring six goals, before being sold to AC Milan for £1 million. However, he struggled to make an impression at the San Siro and was subsequently loaned out to Bologna, Lecce and Sampdora.
And although he was contacted by Serie B side Triestina before the close of the winter transfer deadline day, he still harbors hopes of a return to England, preferably with the Hammers.
"In the last hours of the transfer window, Triestina did approach me, but I have another idea in mind," he told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I spoke with Zola and I asked him about the possibility of training with West Ham because free agents have until March to find a new club. Zola told me he will ask the officials. I wait for an answer."
