Taha Yassine Khenissi insists Tunisia will put their poor group-stage results behind them when they face Ghana in the last 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations on Monday.
Alain Giresse’s side failed to win a game in Group E, drawing all three fixtures to progress as runners-up behind Mali.
They now face Ghana in Ismailia looking to secure a place in the quarter-finals as the 2004 winners look to spring a surprise.
“We face Ghana with one aim, which is winning and qualifying,” the ES Tunis forward said at the pre-match press conference.
“We don’t think about the group stage matches. Tomorrow you’ll see a fresh face for the national team and all the players are united to qualify the Tunisian national team.”
Ghana are now seen as one of the favourites to win the competition but head coach James Kwesi Appiah pointed to the shock eliminations of hosts Egypt and holders Cameroon in recent days as a lesson to not take anything for granted.
“Tomorrow’s match will be entertaining from both sides and Tunisia is one of the strongest teams in the tournament,” he said.

“We’re not the favourites after the former champions and the tournament hosts exited the tournament, as well as Morocco.
“As you see in this competition, there are no favourites but we will give our best to qualify.”
