Guardiola praises 'best ever' Aguero performance
Pep Guardiola acclaimed the performances of Sergio Aguero and Claudio Bravo in Manchester City's 5-1 FA Cup win over Huddersfield Town.
Pep Guardiola hailed Sergio Aguero's performance as the "best ever" of his reign as Manchester City manager after the Argentina striker scored twice in a 5-1 victory over Huddersfield in their FA Cup fifth-round replay.
Aguero scored his 21st and 22nd goals of the season as City recovered from an early Claudio Bravo mistake to ease into the last eight.
The Argentina striker has seen his long-term future at the Etihad Stadium questioned having previously been dropped for Gabriel Jesus, but has scored four goals in his last two games with Jesus sidelined through injury.
"It's the best Sergio Aguero ever. Today [Wednesday] the performance was amazing," Guardiola told BBC Sport.
"The runs were at the right moment and the right tempo. His performance was top."
Guardiola also praised the performance of Bravo, despite another blunder contributing to Huddersfield's opener, the Chile goalkeeper allowing Harry Bunn's low effort to slip through his legs.
"His performance with the foot helped us build up," he added.

Guardiola was quick to praise the quality of his side's Championship opponents, though felt City could have been even more clinical.
"Even in the moment [when we conceded] we were playing quite good, we made good things against a good team," Guardiola said.
"We are happy because we're in the quarter finals. I was impressed with Huddersfield in both halves - they have good quality players.
"We missed a lot of the last passes. But OK - we knew how tough it could be and we play in a good performance."
