Billy Gilmour says he is “loving football” under new Norwich boss Dean Smith following the Canaries’ goalless draw with Wolves at Carrow Road.
Wolves were able to hold off Norwich’s pressure to secure a point in Smith’s second game in charge.
The Canaries had only one victory to their name when Smith replaced Daniel Farke, just eight days after his own dismissal at Aston Villa, but the Canaries have taken four points from his first two games.
Chelsea loanee Gilmour had impressed during Smith’s first game in charge – a 2-1 home win over Southampton – and put in another solid performance against Wolves.
“It’s been a while since I’ve played so I’m really happy to be back, I’m buzzing, I’m loving football. Two good results so I’m a happy man,” Gilmour said.
“It (the rest of the season) is going to be exciting, we’re picking up results and we want to continue this.
“With Scotland as well, I’ve seen the (World Cup play-off) draw so that’s something to look forward to but first and foremost it’s with the club.”
Wolves went into the game having won five of their previous seven matches but struggled to find their rhythm against Smith’s new-look Norwich, who attacked and defended with a renewed intensity.
Gilmour added: “He (Dean Smith) has come in, he’s been ruthless with us, how we train, the intensity. Even in the games you can see there’s a massive difference and it feels like it as well.
“So he comes in, there’s a real buzz about the place and we want to do well.”
Romain Saiss believes Wolves have to improve after failing to take all three points against the relegation-threatened Canaries.
“I think we tried to play in the game in the same way that we trained throughout the week. We tried to find the space between the lines and I think we did it pretty well,” he told the club website.
“But, unfortunately, we have to do a bit more, I think, in the last 30 metres because we didn’t create a lot of chances, a lot of shots, and we didn’t score, so that’s why we are a bit disappointed after the game.
“But with the way we wanted to play, we did what we wanted to do.”
