Inler no longer wanted by Arsenal
Udinese midfielder Gokhan Inler will not be joining Arsenal this summer, according to the player's agent.
The Swiss international, who has made 43 league appearances for the Serie A side since arriving from FC Zurich in 2007, has long been tipped to join the Gunners, with manager Arsene Wenger believed to be a keen admirer of the 25-year-old.
However, the Frenchman has now shelved plans to make the holding midfielder his latest summer signing, according to the player's representitive Dino Lamberti, with Fiorentina enforcer Felipe Melo reportedly higher up on Wenger's wish-list.
"These stories are false. I’m sure Arsene Wenger doesn’t want Gokhan anymore," Lamberti told Sport.
"He [Inler] has two or three offers but I don’t know about any specifics. I have to wait three weeks before being able to clarify whether he goes or stays.
"I think when a good offer from a good club is tabled he’ll think about it. He wants to play Champions League football. Moving abroad is not a problem, he’ll look at the club not the country whether it’s Italy or Germany.
"For him it’s important that the club plays Champions League football, and that the club really want him."
