Kane lauds Spurs' best display this season

Hat-trick hero Harry Kane has hailed the 4-0 thrashing of West Brom at White Hart Lane as Tottenham's best performance of the season.

Mauricio Pochettino's men move up to second in the table ahead of leaders Chelsea travelling to Leicester City later on Saturday and they were in rampant form as they successfully built on a memorable triumph over Antonio Conte's men in their previous league game.

Spurs' winning run now stands at six matches following last month's narrow loss at Manchester United and Kane felt they hit their peak against a thoroughly outgunned Albion.

"We were outstanding. I'd stay that was probably our best performance of the season," Kane told Sky Sports.

"We could have scored a lot more if it wasn't for Ben [Foster] in goal. He made some unbelievable saves.

"We were very good. We wanted to keep our streak going and we've done that."

Kane became a father for the first time last weekend and was delighted to celebrate a special time by taking home the matchball.

"It's amazing," he added. "The week has been a bit of a whirlwind, having a little daughter.  It's been an amazing week and to finish it off like this is just the best way."
