Playing in another World Cup final isn't the only milestone someone from the Mbappe family will have achieved this weekend, as Kylian's younger brother Ethan made his debut for Paris Saint-Germain's first team yesterday in a friendly against Paris FC.

Indeed, as Kylian Mbappe prepares to take on Argentina on Sunday in a bid to win back-to-back World Cups with France, his 15-year-old brother, Ethan Mbappe, came on as a second-half substitute in a friendly game at the club's training ground on Friday.

Among the PSG team were star names such as Sergio Ramos, Marco Verratti and Renato Sanches, with Ethan Mbappe coming onto the pitch for Fabian Ruiz as manager Christophe Galtier made wholesale changes to the side.

PSG won the game against their city rivals 2-1, with Nordi Mukiele and Ismael Gharbi both scoring.

After the game, Mbappe posted on Instagram that he was “very excited to have made my debut in the pros”.

Ethan's career started with AS Bondy in 2015, a club situated in the Paris suburbs. He then joined PSG's academy in 2017, in the same transfer window Kylian moved from AS Monaco to the club on loan.

While still only 14, Ethan then signed a three-year contract with PSG in June 2021, before making his first team debut, admittedly in a behind-closed-doors friendly, for the senior side against Paris FC on Friday.

Ethan is a left-footed midfielder known for his technical ability, unlike his brother Kylian who is commonly feared for his lightning quick pace and dribbling capabilities.

Kylian became Monaco's youngest-ever first-team player aged 16 years and 347 days when making his debut 2 December 2015 in a 1–1 Ligue 1 home draw against Caen, breaking Thierry Henry's record set 21 years previously.

So, while Ethan's friendly debut is a positive, he still has some way to go to make his first competitive first team appearance.
