Lahm desperate for DFB-Pokal glory before retirement

Bayern Munich skipper Philipp Lahm is targeting DFB-Pokal glory before hanging up his boots at the end of the season.

The Bavarians meet Borussia Dortmund in the semi-finals of the competition on Wednesday as they chase a domestic double.

Lahm accepts it will not be an easy game but is determined to see off BVB on his way to the final in Berlin.

"It would be wonderful to end my career on a high with a cup final. The atmosphere is always something special. Our goal is to reach the final in Berlin," Lahm said at a news conference.

"It is a bad season if you do not win any titles. This season can still be quite good. Wednesday will decide whether it is going to be a very good season or just good.

"This is not the time to be sentimental. We are talking about a semi-final against BVB, you do not need any extra motivation. I am determined to give my very best until my last minute wearing this shirt. I am not thinking about my last game yet

"We have always met Dortmund in the DFB-Pokal since 2012, which only shows how big both clubs are. Dortmund have an extremely talented team, especially in attack. [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang's stats speak for themselves, he has special qualities."
