Lamela has second hip operation
Six weeks on from an operation on his left hip, Tottenham's Erik Lamela has had further surgery carried out on his opposite side.
Tottenham have confirmed Erik Lamela has had surgery on his right hip.
The 25-year-old had an operation on his left hip at the beginning of April, ruling him out for the remainder of the 2016-17 season.
The Argentina international has undergone another procedure, which Spurs say will not affect his overall recovery timetable.
"Erik Lamela has undergone a planned procedure to his right hip," the club said on Thursday.
"The Argentina international recently had an operation on his left hip and the latest surgery will not affect the overall recovery period.
"Erik will continue to be monitored by our medical team ahead of returning to action next season."
Lamela's last appearance for Spurs was in the 2-1 EFL Cup fourth-round defeat to Liverpool on October 25.
