Liverpool's poor start to the 2022/23 season continued with a disappointing defeat at home to Leeds in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

The Reds have had problems away from home this season, winning just two points from a possible 15 so far, but this latest setback came in front of packed crowd at Anfield.

Rodrigo Moreno put Leeds ahead after just four minutes of the contest and although Mo Salah levelled inside a quarter of an hour for Jurgen Klopp's side, the visitors took all three points thanks to a late goal from young Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville.

This latest loss means Liverpool have picked up just 16 points from their 12 games, leaving them 13 behind Premier League leaders Manchester City down in ninth place.

Klopp's side have fared better in the Champions League, having already qualified for the last 16, although the Reds look likely to finish second in their group.

For Leeds, meanwhile, it was a welcome win for under-pressure manager Jesse Marsch. The Whites' third victory of the season sees them climb to 15th.
