Manchester City have loaned Douglas Luiz to Girona for the 2017-18 season.
The Brazil Under-20 midfielder only arrived at the Etihad Stadium on July 15, signing a five-year deal after City paid Vasco da Gama a fee believed to be in the region of £10million.
Upon signing for City, it was widely anticipated that Douglas Luiz would make a temporary move to Girona, who are preparing for life in LaLiga having finished runners-up in the Segunda Division last season.
"Girona will give Douglas the perfect opportunity to develop at the top level of the European game," said City's director of football Txiki Begiristain as the switch was confirmed.
"We're all excited about seeing him develop in LaLiga, and send our best wishes to him for the coming season."
Right-back Pablo Maffeo and midfielder Aleix Garcia are also on loan from City at Girona for the season.
