Manchester City v Southampton live stream: how to watch the Premier League wherever you are in the world

Manchester City v Southampton live stream

Manchester City v Southampton live stream, Sky Sports, Wednesday 10 March, 6pm GMT

Manchester City can take another step closer to the Premier League title with victory over Southampton on Wednesday.

Pep Guardiola’s side suffered a shock 2-0 defeat by Manchester United last time out, as City’s crosstown rivals ended their 21-match winning run in all competitions.

United were the better team on Sunday and deserved to take all three points away from the Etihad Stadium, but City are still champions-elect and will not be worried given they have an 11-point lead at the summit of the standings. Guardiola will want to see his team bounce back here, though, while City’s players will also be keen to make amends for Sunday.

Southampton ended a nine-match winless run last time out with a deserved 2-0 triumph over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane. It was a much-needed victory for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side, who were in danger of sleepwalking into a relegation battle having rapidly slid down the table since rising to sixth in early January.

Saints now sit seven points above the dreaded dotted line and probably require just five more points to retain their top-flight status. The ambitious Hasenhuttl will still believe his team can finish in the top half of the table.

City remain without Nathan Ake, but Guardiola has no fresh injury concerns to contend with. Sergio Aguero will hope to return to the starting XI after remaining on the bench against United, while Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva are also pushing for recalls. Kyle Walker could start at right-back if Joao Cancelo is given a rest.

Southampton will not be able to call upon the services of star striker Danny Ings, who has been ruled out for a “few weeks” after sustaining an injury in Saturday’s success against Sheffield United. Theo Walcott is out until next month with a thigh issues, while Oriol Romeu will not return until next season after undergoing surgery on a fractured ankle. Michael Obafemi and Will Smallbone are also missing for Saints.

Kick-off is at 6pm GMT and the game is being shown on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League in the UK. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch a Manchester City v Southampton live stream from outside your country

If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).

All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.

There are plenty of options out there, including:

ExpressVPN

ExpressVPN including a 30-day, money-back guarantee

FourFourTwo’s brainy office mates TechRadar love its super speedy connections, trustworthy security and the fact it works with Android, Apple, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, PS4 and loads more. You also get a money-back guarantee, 24/7 support and it's currently available for a knockdown price. Go get it!

NordVPN NordLocker

NordVPN with quality mobile and desktop apps

A cheaper option and almost ExpressVPN's equal when it comes to quality, too. A single subscription covers six connections, so you can use it on mobile, laptop, streaming devices and more, all at the same time.

Surfshark Surfshark VPN

Surfshark offers a great VPN at a fraction of the price

It's clear to see why Surfshark is top of TechRadar's best cheap VPN table – it combines an excellent product with bargain pricing, starting at £2/$2.50 a month!
