Marquinhos hails 'genius' Cavani
Marquinhos feels Paris Saint-Germain team-mate Edinson Cavani is a genius in front of goal following his sublime 2016-17 campaign.
Paris Saint-Germain defender Marquinhos has hailed Edinson Cavani following the Uruguay international's stellar performances in 2016-17.
The attacker was often played out wide before this season due to the presence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, but the Swede's departure to Manchester United saw Cavani moved into a central role and he did not disappoint.
Cavani netted an impressive 49 goals in 50 appearances in all competitions and Marquinhos has nothing but praise for his team-mate.
"Edi was already one of our strongest players, but the number of goals he has scored this season is just unbelievable," Marquinhos told the club's official website.
"He works hard for the team, is always very positive and gives everything for his team-mates, which is very important.
"He has scored some fantastic goals like the one against Bordeaux that was like [Rabah] Madjer or the lob versus Nancy.
"And there is his own special, where he gets to the near post for a finish.
