Newcastle will be looking to ease the pressure on under-fire manager Steve Bruce when they host Leeds on Tuesday.
The Magpies go into this game on a rotten run of form, having failed to win any of their last 10 encounters in all competitions. Each of their last four games in the Premier League has ended in defeat, and although Newcastle are still seven points clear of the bottom three, relegation is now being spoken about as a very real threat. Bruce has come in for criticism for performances as well as results, with Newcastle having evidenced little in the way of attacking intent for much of his tenure. With just one goal in their last six league matches, the Magpies are in danger of sleepwalking towards demotion.

Bruce himself must be beginning to fear for his job, particularly after Rafael Benitez became available again after his exit from Dalian Pro at the weekend. The Spaniard is not thought to be in line to return to St James’ Park, but he is certainly more popular with Newcastle fans than his successor.
Leeds have not played in the Premier League since January 16 after last week’s meeting with Southampton was postponed. They have lost their last three games in all competitions without scoring - two of those were in the top flight - but Marcelo Bielsa’s side remain in a comfortable mid-table position. With 11 points separating them from the bottom three, it is hard to envision Leeds being dragged into a relegation battle in the second half of the season.
Kalvin Phillips is available again after suspension, but Gaetano Berardi, Adam Forshaw, Robin Koch and Illan Meslier are all out.
Newcastle will have to make do without Ciaran Clark, Paul Dummett and Federico Fernandez, but Allan Saint-Maximin is back in the fold.
