Giovanni Van Bronckhorst revealed he and his players reviewed Rangers’ horror show against Celtic and are now looking to get back on track against Hearts.
The champions have come in for stinging criticism in the wake of Wednesday night’s 3-0 defeat at Parkhead, with tactics and temperament coming under scrutiny.
The Old Firm derby drubbing meant Rangers have dropped seven points from their last 12 and are now one point behind Ange Postecoglou’s men at the top of the cinch Premiership.
Ahead of the visit of the Jambos on Sunday, Van Bronckhorst said: “Of course, we had a debrief today. We showed the images, we saw the things we didn’t do right, the mistakes we made.
“You have to look at the images and be honest and to talk with your players and each other on things we have to improve.
“It’s from these moments that you learn the most, but you have to learn from it and it has to give you energy for the games that come.
“We are very disappointed with the result, but there’s another game to be played on Sunday and we have to improve the things that we didn’t do right and improve ourselves to get a good result.
“It’s still a group that is together. The results aren’t there, we lost the second (league) game in 60 games, so they’ve proved they can bounce back from disappointment and that’s what we have to do on Sunday.
“But obviously I want to see a different team, a different mentality, a different intensity.
“The things you always have to have when you go into games, we have to act different than we did on Wednesday.”
Striker Alfredo Morelos has returned from international duty with Colombia and will be available, as will Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey – the deadline-day loan signing from Juventus.
Van Bronckhorst said: “Alfredo trained today. He came back late last night. I think he had three flights again coming back from Colombia, but he trained as normal today so he will be available for Sunday.
“The only one who is not available is Ianis Hagi and Filip Helander. The other ones are available.
“Aaron Ramsey had a session today and it went really well, so we have to assess him tomorrow but he looks good. We have more players on Sunday.”
Meanwhile, midfielder Scott Arfield revealed new contract talks with the Ibrox club are under way.
The 33-year-old joined the Scottish champions from Burnley in 2018 and his current deal runs out in the summer.
Van Bronckhorst recently admitted he wanted to keep the former Canada international at the Govan club and the former Falkirk and Huddersfield player said: “My agent is talking to the club at the minute.
“This is a club I want to be a part of for a number of years and hopefully we can get an agreement quite quickly.
“I’ve never said anything different about how happy I am here, how grateful I am to play at this football club.
“So hopefully that can get sorted as soon as possible.”
