Their season might be just five games old, but it’s still disconcerting to see Manchester City in the bottom half of the Premier League. Pep Guardiola’s side have failed to win three of their five matches to date, and they will need to rediscover their ruthlessness against the division’s so-called lesser sides if they are to win the title this term.
Sheffield United are desperate for a win for their own reasons. One of four teams yet to taste victory in 2020/21, the Blades’ winless run was extended to six matches with a 2-1 loss to Liverpool last time out. Chris Wilder will take heart from United’s performance at Anfield, which followed on from a 1-1 draw with Fulham the previous weekend, but he will be keen to get that first win on the board as soon as possible.
City were much improved in their 3-0 victory over Marseille in the Champions League on Tuesday, but their laboured display against West Ham in their last Premier League encounter was cause for concern. Much has been made of City’s defensive deficiencies but the attack has been nowhere near as dangerous as we have grown accustomed to so far this season.
The likely absence of both Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus for the trip to Bramall Lane will force Guardiola to get creative once more. Riyad Mahrez has been used as the central forward in City’s front three but the duty fell to Ferran Torres against Marseille, and his goal at the Velodrome may have convinced Guardiola to continue with the Spaniard through the middle. City will also be without Benjamin Mendy and Fernandinho in Yorkshire, but Nathan Ake is rated as 50-50.
Sheffield United, for their part, will again be without John Fleck, Lys Mousset and Jack O’Connell, with the latter’s absence having been particularly debilitating for Wilder and co. thus far.
Kick-off is at 12.30pm GMT and the game is being shown on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate in the UK. See below for watching details where you are.

Use a VPN to watch Sheffield United v Manchester City live stream from outside your country
If you’re on holiday or just simply out of the country, your domestic on-demand services won’t work – the broadcaster knows exactly where you are from your IP address. Your access to the game will be automatically blocked, which is annoying if you’ve paid a subscription fee and don't want to use an illegal, buffering stream that makes you miss another Jose Mourinho tantrum. And that's where we recommend ExpressVPN (more on which below).
All you need to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to get beyond such aggravations (assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs). A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, meaning suppliers can’t work out where you are and what you’re doing. The info going to and from is entirely encrypted.
There are plenty of options out there, including:
ExpressVPN
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee

NordVPN
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
A cheaper option; its cheapest package current averages at a wallet-friendly £2.29 per month.
IPVanish
Including a 30-day, money-back guarantee
Slightly more expensive but supports up to 10 devices, and you can pay for it every three months if you need to.
