Uruguay international Sebastian Caceres is attracting interest from five Premier League clubs including Manchester United and Tottenham, say reports.

The 24-year-old plays his club football in Mexico for Club America but impressed on the international stage, working under former Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, in his country’s recent World Cup qualifiers.

Caceres has played every minute of Uruguay’s four games over the last two months and helped his side keep a clean sheet in a 2-0 win over Brazil last week.

His form has led to speculation of a move to England, with Football Insider claiming that Tottenham, Man Utd, Fulham, Newcastle and West Ham are tracking Caceres.

Spurs are said to be considering a January move as they look to improve their depth of options in defence.

Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven are currently the first-choice partnership for Ange Postecoglou, with Eric Dier providing cover.

Caceres has a contract to December 2024 with America, who he joined from Uruguayan side Liverpool Montevideo in 2019.

The defenders has made 109 appearances for the Mexican side, scoring three goals, and earned his first Uruguay cap in September last year.

He was not part of the squad for the 2022 World Cup but has since featured regularly under Bielsa, starting five of Uruguay’s last six games.

Caceres is valued at just €3.5 million (£3m) by Transfermarkt.
