Swansea had perfect gameplan, says match-winner Sigurdsson
Gylfi Sigurdsson felt his team had the ideal strategy to beat Liverpool after Swansea City recorded a surprise victory.
Swansea City deployed a perfect gameplan to defeat Liverpool at Anfield, according to match-winner Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Paul Clement's men recorded a thrilling 3-2 victory to move out of the bottom three ahead of the other Premier League matches later on Saturday.
After a goalless first half, Fernando Llorente's quickfire double had Swansea in control before Roberto Firmino responded with a brace of his own for Liverpool.
But Sigurdsson had the final word with a strike 16 minutes from time and he hailed Clement's strategy as the manager celebrated his first victory in charge.
Sigurdsson told BT Sport: "After being 2-0 up and then going to 2-2, it was a big disappointment.
"Even a point at Anfield would have been a very good result for us, but I think it shows the character of the team that we wanted to get the win and push on a little bit towards the end, and we got the goal.
"The big man [Llorente] is obviously very strong in the box and we need to get the delivery into him and onto his head. He is very strong in the air.

"The work of the team defensively was outstanding and the gameplan worked perfectly."
Llorente hailed the work of his Swansea team-mates after they dented Liverpool's title hopes with a surprise triumph.
He said: "They were two good goals, but important is the third goal and the work of all the team.
"They were amazing. We had to fight a lot, then run, run and run. I am very happy for myself but also for the team."
