The target is clear - Wenger confident of Arsenal's top four chances

Arsene Wenger has insisted Arsenal must remain focused on themselves as they aim to secure Champions League qualification following a 1-0 win over Leicester City.

Robert Huth's own goal - from Nacho Monreal's well struck but off target effort - handed the Gunners three important points at the culmination of a lacklustre display at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

Prior to Huth's misfortune, the unusually wasteful Alexis Sanchez - fresh from his extra-time winner against Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final last time out - had gone closest to opening the scoring when his strike rattled the crossbar.

Wenger, however, lauded his side's patience in a game of few clear-cut chances, claiming Arsenal - who face north London rivals Tottenham next - are now regaining some momentum, having secured back-to-back Premier League victories for the first time since January.

"Leicester were hard to break down, but we were patient and did not give away any chances," Wenger, whose side are now four points adrift of fourth-placed City, told Sky Sports.

"We created some dangerous chances. We had to give everything on Sunday afternoon, playing extra time.

"Every win gives you a little more momentum. I don't have a preference for the Manchester derby, we don't have to look much at the others.

"We just have to look after ourselves. The target is clear for us."

After cruising to five wins from Craig Shakespeare's first five games in charge, Leicester, meanwhile, have found points hard to come by in recent weeks.

The title-holders have claimed only one point from their last three league encounters, with just six points separating the Foxes from 18th-placed Swansea City.

And caretaker boss Shakespeare knows Leicester must put Wednesday's disappointment behind them and return to winning ways.

"We showed resilience in our defending, but we have not got any points on the board to show for it," Shakespeare told BBC Sport.

"We restricted them and were cruelly beaten by a deflected shot. We have got a dejected dressing room in there. We have not got enough points yet and we need to put more on the board."
