Jose Mourinho has his sights set on a third consecutive win to help Tottenham’s push for the European places when Crystal Palace travel to north London on Sunday.
Spurs hammered Burnley 4-0 before earning a 1-0 win at Fulham in midweek to get their season back on track following back-to-back defeats to Manchester City and West Ham.
Mourinho’s side went into the weekend in eighth place, five points outside the top four, and will need to win home games against the likes of Palace if they are to move through a crowded field of European contenders.
The Selhurst Park side showed their defensive resilience over the last week with two goalless draws in a row against Fulham and Manchester United.
Roy Hodgson’s side appear to be safe from any lurking relegation threat, sitting 13th in the standings, but a top half finish is still a realistic objective for the Eagles.
The last meeting between the two London sides ended in a 1-1 draw in December, when Harry Kane’s opener was cancelled out by a Jeffrey Schlupp goal.
Spurs are unbeaten in their last 11 meetings with Palace, a run that has included nine wins, and Hodgson is aiming to oversee his team’s first victory in this fixture since January 2015.
