Toure: Fearless Gunners can reach Rome again
Arsenal defender Kolo Toure says Arsenal are not afraid of facing Manchester United three times in the space of a month, starting with Wednesday night's Champions League semi-final first leg at Old Trafford. The Gunners head to the Theatre of Dreams with the pressure off knowing they have already all-but secured a top four Premier League finish and Champions League qualification for next season. And the 28-year-old stopper says Arsene Wenger's side have nothing to fear ahead of their meetings with the reigning English, European and World champions and can secure a return to Rome in May - the setting for their last 16 penalty shootout success against Roma.
“I am not scared of any team. I know what I have to do when I play. There is more pressure on United because they are the team to beat," he said.
“We know when we play football against Manchester United they struggle a lot. United are a really good team going forward but, like us, at the back they have conceded a few goals.
“The Champions League is a massive trophy for us. We have never won it and we now have the chance. We’ll go for it, we are not scared.”
