Virgil van Dijk loses Premier League game at Anfield for first time as Liverpool player
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk saw his incredible Anfield record ended by Leeds' late winner in the Premier League on Saturday
Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk has lost a Premier League game at Anfield for the first time since signing for the Reds in January 2018.
Crysencio Summerville's late winner gave Leeds a surprise 2-1 win in Saturday's late game as Liverpool's sorry start to the season continued.
It was the Reds' first home defeat of the season and a first in the Premier League at Anfield for Van Dijk, who stood off Summerville prior to the youngster's late winner.
Van Dijk signed from Southampton in January 2018 and the Dutch defender had featured in 70 Premier League games at Anfield prior to this one.
In those 70 games, Van Dijk had helped Liverpool to 59 wins and 11 draws, but that record finally came to an end with defeat to Leeds on Saturday.
Liverpool have now dropped 19 points in the Premier League this term, having let only 22 slip in the whole of last season.
