WATCH: Minnows Avranches celebrate wildly after drawing PSG in Coupe de France

Struggling near the foot of the Championnat National, there have not been many highlights for third-tier Avranches this season.

The club from Normandy are third from bottom of the league and a point adrift of safety as they battle against relegation.

But they have enjoyed a superb run in the Coupe de France and saw off Ligue 2 promotion chasers Strasbourg on penalties on Wednesday to reach the quarter-finals.

And they were subsequently rewarded with a dream draw against Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain.

Avranches will pit themselves against the likes of Edinson Cavani, Angel Di Maria and Marco Verratti next month, and head coach Damien Ott and club president Gilbert Guerin could not hide their delight, leading the rapturous celebrations as the draw was made.

Guerin initially wanted the tie to be played at the Stade de France, but the high costs of renting the national stadium means it is likely to be staged at Stade Michel d'Ornano, home of Avranches' neighbours Caen.
