Who is the referee for Croatia vs Morocco at World Cup 2022?
Qatari official Abdulrahman Al-Jassim is the man in the middle for Croatia vs Morocco in the third-place play-off of World Cup 2022
Croatia vs Morocco will have Abdulrahman Al-Jassim from Qatar officiating at the Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan on Saturday.
The World Cup 2022 referee took charge of the group stage game between Wales and USA, which finished 1-1. The Qatari ref gave a penalty to Wales, which Bale scored, after Timothy Weah put the Americans ahead.
He hasn't officiated at any other match at the tournament since, but has been given the opportunity to be the person in the middle of the third-place play-off between Croatia and Morocco.
Al-Jassim isn't shy to produce a yellow card, though, proven in the game between Wales and USA. Indeed, he handed out six bookings during the game, alongside the penalty, proving he will take no nonsense from the players.
Four years ago, at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, Al-Jassim worked as a Video Assistant Referee, before taking charge of games at the 2019 AFC Asian Cup and the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup.
However, the most notable moment of his career so far came in 2019, when he refereed the FIFA Club World Cup final between Liverpool and Flamengo in his home country.
Al-Jassim will be joined by two Qatari assistant referees running the line, with a fourth official from Brazil.
